When thinking about Hawaii, the beautiful beaches, incredible sunsets, amazing nature hikes, scent of the ocean breeze, and the spirit of the locals our Ohana come to mind. Then there's the food. The now trendy Poke seems to be everywhere in NYC but just not quite as good as it is on the island. Of course you can't forget about the Hawaiian Kalua Pig typically cooked in an imu all day long for luaus. Unfortunately I can't dig up a hole in this concrete jungle, so next best thing was the slow cooker. This was cooked over night for 18 hours to the point where the meat just falls off the bone. Mmm sooo good! Trying to make it healthy it's served with garlic fried brown rice and fresh broccoli. . . . . . #hawaiian #hawaiianfood #foodporn #foodie #kaluapig #foody #foodphotography #queens #newyork #slowcooked #healthyfood #brownrice #garlicfriedbrownrice #garlicfriedrice #pinoy #pinoyfood #filipino #hawaii https://ift.tt/2MBsJY6
